BS Toys
I was commissioned by BS Toys to design toys for toddlers, ages 1.5-3. The question was whether the toys could also promote fine motor skills.
I chose to focus on precise work and turning movements. Since this is still in full development at this age.
The vision of BS Toys is to make toys that bring children back to the basics of play. Think outdoor play, running and climbing. They also want to achieve this with sustainable materials.
I created a variation on the block game. I developed some boards that have a track where shapes are distributed on them. Also included is a stick with colored and differently shaped blocks. The idea is that they have to get the whole stick through it. This is done by going down the track and spinning to get the shapes through.
I had to consider NEN standards for smaller children in this design.
